Books

So I've been reading two books, one is Game of Thrones (the first one) and the other is from Tales of Earthsea (the first one). I thought I would like the Game of Thrones books, but aside from me not liking to read, I found the book very confusing and boring. There's hardly any action in what I've read of it, and each chapter switches the story to a different character who is in a completely different city with completely different families and what-not. Not to mention how many other characters need to be remembered to actually understand each chapter. It's awful, and I can honestly say I do not like the Game of Thrones books from my experience with the first.

Now with Tales of Earthsea, this book is quite nice. There is absolutely no confusion anywhere in the story from what I've read, and this book even deals with MAGIC. Cool stuff. It's such a linear story that's super easy to follow, and the first page in the book is a MAP. A MAP. Thank you, Tales of Earthsea, for helping me understand what I'm reading and where I'm at, literally, in the book. If the Game of Thrones book had a map in it, I might like it more and would be able to understand much more. Anyhow, Tales of Earthsea is a cool and easy story in which a kid finds out he's a mage and trains to become a wizard. He accidently unleashes a great and terrible shadow into the world and now the shadow seeks out the main character, Ged, to take over his being. Ged runs and hides from the shadow, but now finds he must fight the shadow if he wishes not to run for the rest of his life. Good book. There's five in the series, I think.
